Sherfield Park Community Association would like to update you on the building works being carried out on the developments £2m Community Centre. The Association is working closely with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council on the new community centre which is being built and funded by Croudace Homes Limited.

 

The Community Centre is set to completion in early 2011 with the centre forming a new village quarter which will include a convenience store and shop.

 

The centre will comprise a large main hall, which can be used for everything from public meetings to sports and exercise classes or could be divided up as the location for a youth club. An area for under fives activities could be used for a toddler group, crèche or nursery. There is a reception area that can double as a venue for drop-in sessions and coffee mornings, the centre will also have a fully fitted kitchen. The centre will provide a lounge and consulting room that could be used for local health clinics. The new centre will look out over the playing fields with two sports pitches and provides full changing room facilities.

 

As you will see from the image above, work has accellerated this past month and will continue apace until completion.

The Community Association is looking for new Community members where you will be entitled to vote at general meetings of the association.
