Meet Candice Wright, Community Centre Development Manager

My name is Candice Wright and I am your new Community Centre Development Manager, I have been in post since 1st June.

I am really privileged to be part of this exciting community facility and feel proud that I can share the enthusiasm of so many volunteers that have worked tirelessly with the developers and local authority to get this amazing building off the ground.  I think you will all agree with me that it is a fabulous building and a huge asset to this local community.  So now the funs starts here!

There are many fantastic groups queuing up to book the Centre and we are working closely with them all to ensure that the Centre timetable is diverse, accessible to all and more importantly what the local community – you- actually want!

My immediate background is in Community Development and I have experience in working with communities to develop activities, projects and ideas, so I am really keen to hear from everyone what you would like to see happening at the Centre and how you can be a part of it.

I am really looking forward to  getting out and about across the estate over the next few months so I hope to get to know many more of you, but please drop in to the Centre at any time for a coffee or a look around to see what excellent activities we can have on offer.

So whether you want to book a party, get fit and lose weight, enjoy an adult social evening or find some fun activities for your children, there will be something for everyone. 

We are always on the look out for volunteers too, to ensure the Centre can be open at times convenient to everyone.  So if you have a couple of hours spare a week or even a month maybe to man the Reception, help out at the Coffee Shop or if you would like to get an activity off the ground you will be greatly welcomed, please email volunteers@sherfieldparkcommunity.co.uk

This is such an exciting time for this Community and many of you will have been here from the early stages of development.  I am really honoured that I can help Sherfield Park residents celebrate the opening and really put the Community Centre on the map by creating a warm, friendly and welcoming place for all.
